I am so in AWE of our Savior!
I have traveled a difficult journey since Bruce’s death in 2004.
I have gone from total dependence on God to get me out of bed, to a life of purpose and JOY!
We knew immediately that Bruce was just too good for this world, and that God had rewarded him early by taking him to heaven at only 14. In a blink of an eye, he went from smiling on this earth and saying “I am good,” to face to face with Jesus! However, we were left ~ left to the rest of our lives on earth without our Bruce. We were heartbroken, confused, and asking “why would God take him?” He was happy, healthy and one of the most spiritual 14 year olds on the planet.
Bruce loved life and loved God even more!
It has been a journey I wouldn’t choose for anyone, and yet God had a much bigger plan and purpose than I could have ever imagined. “His ways are higher than my ways, His thoughts higher than my thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9). We have been blessed to share his journal with thousands and watched as Bruce’s words and Jesus have led others to Christ.
Bruce has been as popular in death as he was in life! The journey is definitely not the one I would have chosen, and I miss my sweet boy as much today as I did the first, but I have total peace~peace that could only come from God and JOY that I thought I would never again experience on earth. I am blessed to be able to share my Bruce with the world and watch as God does “immeasurably more than I could have ever imagined”.
Through Bruce’s life, his journal and the annual RUN FOR HIM fundraiser race, the Bruce Gilley Memorial Foundation has the privilege of supporting young people in their calling to Christian-based camps and mission trips.
How blessed and very proud I am to be Bruce’s mom! – To HIM be the glory!
Forever in AWE!

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to HIS POWER that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in Christ Jesus forever and ever.”
