Prayer is huge in El Salvador
The highlight of this day was definitely the church service. The people are so passionate for Jesus! They prayed and worshipped different. Prayer is huge in El Salvador. Throughout the week we would come in and out of the church to grab lunch and there was always 3-5 people on their knees crying and praying. I got the privilege to share my testimony, about my relationship with Jesus, at church this night and it was a great experience. I was very open and got emotional telling how Jesus changed me and is constantly working on my family. I am not an emotional person! After I shared, the church kept yelling “Hallelujah, hallelujah! hallelujah!” We concluded the service by spending about 45 minutes praying. It was amazing!

Learning God’s Lessons
Ministry was hard on this day. It was a long day and we did 7 programs in 95-100 degree weather. After a long day, I wanted rest. However, I got pranked by the National Staff and the team painted my face. (I’m a heavy sleeper apparently!) When cleaning up, I got frustrated because of being picked on and bullied in my past. The people that painted my face thought they hurt me, but that wasn’t the case. God just wanted me to share the burdens I’ve been carrying the past few months and the pain I still hold onto… God was wanting to heal the brokeness in my family!
I wasn’t mad at anyone, but God answered the prayer that, my mentor, Scott had prayed at the airport in Nashville. The prayer that God would soften my heart. The National Staff came and talked to me. They said “Savut, we can prank you because you’re special and like a brother to us. We feel so close to you. This is how we show love. We joke around and laugh and prank. It’s because we love you.”
It was a special night. I’m grateful that the Lord used a situation that I would usually complain about turn it into a lesson to learn. I know that these people love me and that God loves me! I’m so thankful that God is softening my heart because if I had a hard heart I would have been bitter towards this prank and let it ruin my week. God you are so good!
